The mayor of Enschede, Roelof Bleker, will be a special guest during the conference dinner of the 12th Biennial International Conference of the Dutch HRM Network. As a former member of the HRM group at the University of Twente, he has a strong connection with the conference theme HRM and resilience.

About the conference, mayor Bleker states: “Enschede is a city that is constantly focused on innovation. We actively work on knowledge and innovation. For organizations and companies, this requires a good mix of talent and experience. How do you attract the right people, how do your retain talent and what do you need to do to respond to the ever-changing market? These are also challenges for a city like Enschede.”

He also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between academia and policy-makers – thereby highlighting the importance of this year’s motto: “a call for actionable knowledge”:

It is important to do this together. Learn from and inspire each other. Let’s do that during the 12th International Conference of the Dutch HRM Network at our University of Twente.”
