pHResh, with the support of the Dutch HRM Network, organizes a PhD Consortium on Friday October 29, 2021 at the University of Twente for a maximum of 50 PhD students in the areas of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.

Wait… what?

For the past editions of the Dutch HRM Network conference, pHResh has organized a PhD Consortium on the day prior to the conference. This year, with the conference moved to 2022, pHResh was asked by the Dutch HRM Network to organize its PhD Consortium, despite no conference, in order to offer PhD students an opportunity to present their work to peers, network and make meaningful connections.

What will the program be?

The day starts with walk-in, coffee and a plenary welcome by pHResh, and is followed by “power pitches”: dr. Jessica de Bloom, Prof. Dr. Tanya Bondarouk and Prof. dr. Jaap Paauwe give Ted Talk-style presentations and answer questions from the audience. Then, before and after the lunch there are sparring sessions where the participating PhD students break out into smaller groups and connect to an experienced academic and present a paper, or a concept for a paper, ideas for a research proposal, etc. (hand-in deadline: 20 October 2021). During lunch, there will be a “speed dating” activity, and a secondary networking activity will take place after the second part of the sparring sessions. This network activity will lead-in the drinks.

The PhD Consortium is scheduled to start at 09.30hrs and finishes at the latest at 17.30hrs at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands).

The registration fee for the pHResh PhD Consortium is €45,-.

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis: make sure to register quickly!

But what about the Coronavirus?

We observe and follow the Coronavirus guidelines that are set by the Dutch Government. In case Coronavirus guidelines prohibit an offline, in-person PhD consortium, we continue the program in a virtual PhD consortium. This decision will be made in the first week of October. The registration fee is non-refundable. In case of a virtual PhD Consortium, we still provide an engaging program and lunch at home.
