Jaap Paauwe, emeritus professor Organization and HR Management (TSB) and co-founder of the Dutch HRM Network, is the first non-American to receive the Academy of Management HR Division’s Thomas A. Mahoney Award.

This award is given to a person who has distinguished herself/himself in the mentoring of PhD students, named after Tom Mahoney who provided so much guidance to developing PhD students throughout his career. Former students characterised professor Paauwe as passionate about sharing knowledge and deeply caring about his mentees.
